Recreational Pilot Permit

A Recreational Pilot Permit allows virtually anyone to start flying.  Recreational Pilot Permit holders may fly a four seat aircraft while carrying a maximum of one passenger anywhere in Canada. Ideal for those at both ends of the age spectrum, teens and seniors, or those with medical conditions.

Requirements:

  • 14 years of age to fly solo
  • 16 years to receive the permit
  • Category 4 Medical
  • Proof of Citizenship

Minimum Course Requirements:

  • 25 flight hours, comprise of
  •     5 solo & 15 dual flight hours
  • RPPAE or PPAER exam completed
  • Flight Test
