Commercial Pilot License

There are are several reasons to complete your commercial pilots license (CPL).  Whether you are wanting an exciting career, lower insurance premiums, or completing the training for personal interest, expect a challenge at every stage of the training!

Prospects for careers in aviation currently are very good with domestic and international airlines still facing a pilot shortage.  If a career in aviation is your goal, talk to one of our instructors to discuss how to achieve your goal.

The CPL course as outlined by Transport Canada focuses on developing personal skill in addition to increasing your knowledge level from the Private Pilot License (PPL).

  • Private Pilot License – Aeroplane
  • Valid Category 1 Medical
Total time requirements:
  • 200 hours total time
  • 100 hours Pilot In Command (PIC)
To be completed after the PPL has been issued:
  • 35 hours dual instruction
  • 20 hours instrument training
  • 30 solo practice
  • 300 nautical miles PIC cross country flight
  • Night Endorsement (times included in dual/solo)
